Today it was again hot, so no running, but we lathered up the sunscreen and sunhat to go outside to water a newly planted tree. My daughter stood at the threshold of the door and refused to emerge from the house. Anyone who knows her knows that she would rather be outside. So this was odd to say the least. She is currently going through a little fear of bugs phase, especially bees. To which I blame Piglet’s Big Movie in which the bees play a pivotal role in the opening minutes. So she is afraid and was refusing to come outside unless I picked her up and held her. The bug she had spotted was a big old horse-fly that was a very safe distance away. After a few minutes the bug was a memory and she was back to her usual self. I have explained to her that bees will leave you alone if you leave them alone and that we don’t go messing with their hive like Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit and Eeyore do in the movie. I also told her that its gonna be summer soon and that there are going to be a lot of bugs outside, but she is bigger than any of those bugs and that it’s going to be okay. She seems to get the picture at least as best a two-year-old can.
My stats for the day.
(I know that the image for the post is a butterfly. I don’t have any pictures of any other bugs 😉
