“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 HCSB
Wow! This verse has just as much relevance today as it did when Paul wrote it. Do not be conformed to this age. With everything that comes at us everyday, bombarded by ads, news, information, etc. that is a tall order. But a noble endeavor that I am undertaking. Too many times I get drawn into the trappings of today. New shoes, new phone, new car. The other day in order to avoid that little trap, I went about naming something that I had and then elaborated on how I would be a good steward with it and use it for God’s glory. I basically went down the list of what I had on me. Kind of like counting blessings. It offered me a different perspective and made me think how I could be a better steward with all of the things I have. How I could use them not for me but for my family and God. I hope I am renewing my mind and getting a whole different perspective on life.
