It is raining today. And on my ride home from work I was wondering what to do in case I couldn’t run when I got home. What to do? Luckily, it wasn’t too bad when I got to the house and I adjusted my run to a shorter distance so that I could still make my Lenten challenge.
But it got me thinking about what I could do when I can’t actually go outside to run. Some possible alternatives: Try to run at work on a treadmill, do something else besides running, or do one of the walking videos that my wife and I did during her pregnancy. All viable options and it looks like I might have to implement one of those at least once this week (I’m betting Thursday).
I really should have a contingency plan so that I don’t miss a day. Missing a day is not an option. And having that contingency plan or alternate will help keep me from trying to talk myself out of not working out.
“My teaching will fall like drops of rain and form on the earth like dew. My words will fall like showers on young plants, like gentle rain on tender grass.”
