“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live.”
Psalm 104:33
Every night my wife and I raise our voices to sing for our daughter just before putting her to bed. Everything you read says establish good bedtime routines early to help get the little one off to slumber land. We like to sing, so that became the culmination of our bedtime routine. When the last note rings we set her down in her crib.
And she loves it! As she is learning to talk she also is practicing her singing. She has picked up some words and definitely the sounds and the tunes. It is super fun and cute to watch and listen.
She gets two songs a night. One, while we meander our way to her bedroom, and the other right before setting her down. She gets to request the first song. Lately, she has requested ‘O Holy Night.’ She has the first couple of lines sort of down.
The second song is always the same and it is ‘Be Thou My Vision.’ I bet we have sung the song 750 times at least. You would think we would be tired of it by now, but we’re not. When we get to the last line “oh ruler of all,” my daughter pulls out her pacifier and shouts “ALLLLLLLL” right along with us. And its worth it every time!
God Bless!

Thank you Rick. I have had the distinct privilege of seeing and hearing this wonderful routine. My thought is God is as well-pleased as anyone at this. Keep Planting the good seeds in her life, and keep sharing them with us. Blessings.
