Wonderfully Made!

We are truly fearfully and wonderfully made.  As one of my mental health process goals is to get smart on several different aspects of health.  So, I was listening to a podcast today and was struck (as I repeatedly am) of how God is a master craftsman.  The gist of the EliteHRV podcast was on the detrimental structural and biomechanical effects that modern life has on the human body.  I sit at my computer almost all day, like many people do, which has a detrimental effect of my spine as well as my eyes.  Essentially it is retraining my body to slouch, and my eyes to only focus on something 15 to 20 inches away.  That spinal compression has an effect on the heart, organ functioning, and a lot of other things via the nervous system.  Our entire physical body and mind has purpose and it is all connected.   The physical impacts the mental and the mental impacts the physical and God made us that way.  Yet more evidence that I need to focus on many different aspects of health.  My physical health regime focuses a lot on the core muscles which affect spinal position among other things, but I need to also focus on my posture while sitting at work (or maybe get a standing desk) while not working out.

My plan for this week is this:

Monday – Break  Tuesday – Strength Wednesday – Regeneration (Foam roller) Thursday – Power  Friday – Strength Saturday – Regeneration

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Psalm 139:13-14
