Cracking the water code revisited.
So ran across a little info graphic on when you should drink water. Basically saying the optimal times to ingest your water. Got me thinking about what I am doing and am I doing it as best as I can or is there a better way. Then I thought hey is this valid? What does the research say or at least a reputable source other than a Facebook post. Here’s what the mayo clinic says. So as with anything it all depends. The question of how much water you should drink depends on a lot of factors, but at the heart it depends on you. The 8 by 8 oz glasses is a good start and gets you in the ball park of the recommended 3 L which is actually 13 cups. The caveat being 13 cups of fluid. For me I drink other fluids throughout the day, (Green tea, the occasional soda, and of course coffee). So when I reach my goal of 64 oz of other but water that is in addition to those other beverages. If I was exercising heavier I would obviously up the amount of fluids and the type (e.g. sports drinks, my favorite being of course Gatorade).
Now the next question and the one that the infographic was talking about was the when. A search gets you some different results but here is a good guideline. I’ll be honest my water intake has not been great. I have gotten it up to around 40 to 50 oz but not near the consistency I was at previously. I am gonna try the recommendations and see if I can build back the habit. Will keep you posted and God Bless.
Up next steps…
