So its been almost 3 weeks and while we knew that our lives would change forever it was hard to imagine this. Not that it is bad. We knew going in that there would be sleep deprivation and disruption to routines. The goal now is to rebuild routines around the routine that we are creating for her. Not an easy task as her establishing her routine can be a bit tricky. As a newborn she is on a cycle of eat, sleep and diaper change which reoccurs anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours. The major barriers to functioning under this cycle are lack of sleep and time. While I head on in to work each day and that was were I was exercising in small brief sets the lack of sleep has had an effect on my energy to be able to do so. Coffee while it helps is not the answer. So the challenge will be to figure out how to restructure and rebuild a new routine for myself. Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer right now, just the problem.
And this might be an iterative process. Baby steps (pun intended) and new goals that will change in the coming weeks, months, and years. These are the areas I need to address over the next couple of days and come up with a plan.
“My eyes are always on the Lord, for He will pull my feet out of the net.”
