It’s Friday!!! Yes my Star Wars geekitude shows back up. Its been a long week and this Friday couldn’t come soon enough. Today I wanted to talk about my workout routine. I’m not talking about the exercises but the routine I go through right before and right after.
- Stand straight and focus on good posture (My shoulders tend to round so its important for me bio-mechanically to do the exercise with good posture)
- 3 to 4 deep diaphragmatic breaths to get as much oxygen as possible and balance out my physiology.
- Visualize the movement
- Execute exercise and repeat one cue word or image that focuses me on my form
- Complete the exercise and recover with 4 to 5 diaphragmatic breaths then repeat for the next exercise.
So you may have something similar or not. If you don’t have a little pre-performance routine I highly recommend finding something that works for you. You want to be as effective and efficient with your workouts as possible and a routine will get you focused on what you are doing and keep you in the moment instead of just going through the motions. Plus you don’t want to get injured so its an added benefit. Have a good weekend of football. God Bless!
