Week 10 Day 4


The picture below is what it feels like in the morning with no coffee and a couple of nights in a row of bad sleep. Yes I am a bit of a Star Wars geek.  IMG_1555But seriously lets talk about caffeine.  A lot of folks use coffee or some other beverage with caffeine to stay alert throughout the day.  There is a smart way to do this and a not so smart way to do it.  The smart way is to cut off your intake by a certain time.  Drinking a beverage that has about 200 mg of caffeine early in the afternoon can help keep you alert.  However, caffeine stays in your system 4-6 hours so drinking it after a certain time will affect your bedtime.  I like to be in bed by 10 pm so 3 pm is my cutoff that gives me an hour buffer.

Today I taught in the morning so had to do the majority of my workout in the afternoon.  At this point my motivation to get my daily workouts done is pretty strong.  It has become a habit and rewarding.  Its not much longer for when our daughter will arrive and I believe my fitness level is at a good place to start.
