Week 1 Day 2 (otherwise known as Tuesday)
My goal today was 100 bicep curls using the elastic band and 100 military presses. I broke them up into 4 sets each of 25 and got them all done at work.
I neglected to add to prior posts that my wife and I also own a couple of Fitbit Flex‘s which has a standard goal of 10,000 steps a day. I don’t always hit this goal, hence not mentioning it, and today was no different. However, it is a handy little device and there are a lot of similar wrist worn activity trackers out there. Jawbone, Garmin, and a host of others. You can go more advanced as well. I am sure everyone has heard of the Apple Watch and maybe the Basis Peak. Do your due diligence however and find the one that does what you need and if it does it well enough to your liking. Emerging technology is so frequent it is hard to keep track of what is out there and what is on the horizon. It will be interesting to see the capabilities these devices will have in the very near future.
The thing I like about the Fitbit Flex is that it can track sleep. Sleep is important and its nice to know how much I am getting a night. Its not super precise but gives me a pretty good idea. I have figured that a good night for me is between 7.5 and 8 hours. I haven’t been getting that lately. Last night I logged just under 7 hours. I am still able to function with that little but not great. And I know that cognitively and physically it gets worse when I have several nights in a row of poor sleep. But I know once the baby comes it will be less a night for me and obviously for my wife.
